Richard Manson is the founding partner of Manson Johnson Conner PLLC and a respected figure in legal, business, and community leadership for more than 45 years. Originally from Dayton, Ohio, he made Nashville his home after earning his B.A. in History from Fisk University and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School. Richard’s dedication to learning and growth is reflected in his advanced executive education at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, University of Wisconsin at Madison, and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern.


His legal career spans decades of private practice, national and international business collaborations, and extensive work with leading media and entertainment clients. Richard’s client list has included historic civil rights leaders and Grammy-winning artists, demonstrating both his legal acumen and cultural impact.


Beyond the law, Richard is the founder and president of SourceMark, LLC—a company manufacturing and distributing health-related products nationwide. He is also a published author, university professor, and a trusted advisor serving on numerous boards, including Citizens Savings Bank and Trust Company (as chairman), the Healthcare Supplier Diversity Alliance, and the Ethics Committee of United States Track and Field.


Richard’s service extends to advancing economic development and inclusion, with a special emphasis on innovation, infrastructure, and opportunity. He is a frequent speaker at universities and industry conferences, recognized for his thoughtful leadership and commitment to community.
